In the mid 1970's we had our warning with an oil embargo. That was over 30 years ago.  We should have started looking for alternate energy sources. We should have long ago developed them into good solutions. Let's get started

Some energy sources can be developed in a short time. Others will take a long time. We should develop the quick ones first, and also start working on the ones that will take a long time to develop

Some place in the world there must be a plant that can be grown on marginal farm land. One that has a high oil content in its fruit or seeds.  Ideally this plant will produce a lot of seeds or fruit. It should be one that will grow well with little water It would be nice if the oil from this plant would burn well in diesel engines, with little or no processing, except for pressing and filtering.

If the oil were too thick, perhaps it could be thinned out with a little gasoline

I once had a diesel car. One day it was very cold and it did not run well. I stopped at a gas station and added 1/2 gallon of gasoline. Then it ran normally. Diesel has a tendency to gel if it gets too cold.

Finally there is some progress toward alternate energy sources! Wind power, wave power, solar power, gasoline-battery/solar \plug in/ hybrid cars, hybrid trains. What will be next?

E 85= 75% ethanol & 25% gasoline.

If a car gets only 20 miles to the gallon on E-85, then 100 gallons of E-85 would take it 2000 miles. It would use 75 gallons of alcohol and 25 gallons of gasoline.

2000 divided 25= 80.

That car would go 80 miles for each gallon of GASOLINE it uses.

2000 divided by 75 = 26.67.

It would go 26.67 miles for each gallon of ETHANOL  it uses .

Several million cars in the USA are flex-fuel cars. They will burn regular gasoline or E-85, or any combination of gasoline and E-85.

The Problem is that there are few places where E-85 is available.

I think we need to do more drilling, for oil and gas. Sen. Obama said "drilling will not do any good. WRONG! WRONG! Drilling will do at least 3 "goods".

(1) It will lower the price of gasoline and diesel.

(2) It will keep some of our money here. We are sending away too much money to China, Japan and the middle east.

(3) Since everything we do is tied to energy, it will bring down the price of everything we do (including eating, driving our cars, heating our homes, buying food and taking our kids to school, and driving to work.

We hear a lot about Global Warming, being caused by burning too much fuel that generates gereen house gases.

Perhaps the dinosarus did not burn enough fossil fuel. When the climate started getting too cold they should have built a lot of bon fires to warm things up a little.

Instead they sat around and did not do anything to stop the ice age. So, they froze to death.

Before all of the animals froze to death, some of them figured out what to do.

It was too late to save the dinosaurs. Poor dumb beasts!! They really should have burned more fossil fuels.

If you think you can do anything about Global Warming, try moving the world a little farther from the sun.

 However you better be careful. If you move it a little far, it will throw the earth into another ice age. That is unless we burn an awful lot more fossil fuel than we are now burning.

If the earth gets moved too far away from the sun, the crops and other plants will not grow, causing wide spread hunger and diseases.

Both man and beast will suffer or become extinct.

Do you believe all of the above? That is O.K. I do not believe the green house lie.

We are still coming out of the last Ice Age. Man did not cause Global Warming and man did not cause the last Ice Age.

Show me some real evidence about man causing Global Warming!! There ain't none. There is only theory and speculation.
