We keep hearing about a time table for bringing our troops home, from Afghanistan and Iraq. 

At the end of WW I our country brought our troops home TOO SOON! ! ! We were soon fighting World War II.

At the end of WW II we did not get in any hurry to bring our troops home ! ! !

In fact we still have troops in Germany and Japan. It is a good thing we do. If we had brought our troops home right away we may have had to fight WORLD WAR III ! ! !

I was in Germany for a year and a half myself (1954-1956). The German people did not give me any problem. Most of the time, when I went down town I wore the US Army uniform. 

To set a time to bring our troops home would be to set a time FOR surrender ! ! ! We must stay until the job is done, one year, ten years, fifty years?

We have had troops in Germany and Japan for more than sixty years. There is no talk of bringing THEM  home ! ! ! !
