The high price of gasoline is the fault of the US CONGRESS.
Every CONGRESS we have had, for more than 30 years, has failed us.
(Some of us remember the Oil Embargo over 30 years ago?) That should have been our "Wake up call".
More importantly it should have been a "Wake up call" for each and every member of CONGRESS, and our all of our PRESIDENTS.
President Bush did ask Congress to pass a bill, to permit drilling in ANWAR, Alaska. Was it defeated by one vote?
Note: Update June 19, 2008. Yesterday, on T.V. I saw Prsident Bush asking Congress to allow some oil drilling in ANWAR, Alaska.
Some joker on T.V., said "More drilling will not do any good." I don't know who he is.
Off shore oil and gas drilling has been suspended since the Valdes, Alaska oil spill. Drilling needs to be started back up.
President Bush has asked Congress to allow off shore drilling.
Did any of the other presidents, in the past 30 years do anything to achieve energy independence?
A member of the US Congress had the audacity to say "The high gas price is the fault of President Bush! !
No, it is the fault of Congress, for restricting the drilling for oil. Congress has resisted our energy independence. Why do we have to depend on undependable oil supplies.
In White County AR there is a lot of drilling for natural gas.
There is also a need to step up the use of wind power, solar power and biofuels.
WE MUST BREAK OUR DEPENDANCE ON OIL FOR POWER. FORIEGN OIL FOR SURE.
What to do? Vote every member of Congress out. Like good bye, hit the road Jack and never come back.

They have only a short time to get started drilling for oil in ANWAR, in Alaska, off shore and elsewhere.
We have plenty of oil, we just ain't pumping it and useing it. We need it for Gasoline, Diesel, black top roads and petrochemicals.
Why are we buying oil from some one else, when we have plenty of our own.
Ford does not buy cars from GM, and send them to their own dealers to sell. No, they make plenty of their own.
Also, Congress must see to it that permits are issued to build several new oil refineries.
Get it done now, before November 07, 2008. Or else good bye & hit the road Jack and do not come back ! ! ! ! !
Our present Congress members needs a long vacation, like forever. Or find a real job and go to work.

Just because some joker in N.Y. , California or some other state objects, is no reason to deprive the whole US of what we need. AS SOON AS THE DRILLLING AND CONSTRUCTION ON THE REFINERIES STARTS, THE PRICE OF GASOLINE WILL DROP ! ! Depending on foriegn oil is bad for the USA. We should not be at the mercy of OPEC, the big oil companies, and unstable foreign governments. Importing oil is one reason for our huge trade deficits. Cut out the buireaucracy. Issue permits to build at least 3 NEW refineries. Get it done NOW, even if they have to be built on federal lands. Get it done NOW, even if some states object. We are Mad, Mad & Mad at the US Congress. Mad # 1 We are mad at Congress for not getting conttrol of our borders. We have never had control of our borders. Why-Why-Why? Some honest, hard working alliens just want a better life, and a job. Our guest worker program needs fixing Good people, who want to come here to do honest work, should not have to risk their lives to get here to work. Some people take advantage of them and mistreat them, and sometimes even cause their death. All kinds of illegal allens are crossing our borders, any time they want to. Many illegal allens are bringing illegal drugs of all kinds. Many of them have a long criminal history in their home land. Congress get contdrol of our borders! ! ! Mad # II We have never had a comprehensive energy policy. Why-Why-Why? ? Over 30 years ago there was an oil embargo. There was a gasoline shortage. The cost of gasoline tripled in a short time. Gas went from 25 or 30 cents per gallon to over a dollar a gallon. It is stupid for us to import oil when we have plenty in Alaska. I do not remember exactly when, it may have been several months ago, or a few years ago? There was a bill before congress to allow drilling for gas and oil in the ANWAR National Wildlife Preserve. It was defeated. Why-Why-Why? ? ? Congress member did you vote for it or against it? It failed by ONE VOTE. WAS THAT YOUR VOTE? We need and use the oil. Why must we depend on undependable supplies. The American oil companies, OPEC, the speculataors and others are ripping us off. The animal rights bunch claimes that oil drilling would be bad for the wildlife. Yeah, that was what they were claiming when it was being decided to construct the "Little Inch and the Big Inch Pipeline" They said that it would harm the Caribou population. Not so. The pipeline created a pasture for them, nearly 2000 thousand miles long. The number of caribou actually increased. Same old lie this time. More alterenate energy supplies should have been developed. We blame the US Congress for it's lack of leadership. Of course we have only known about this problem for 30 something years. Some progress is now being made. (No thanks to Congress). They keep dragging their feet. Why is our oil from Akaska going to Japan ? ? We are buying oil from others while selling our oil to Japan. That is stupid ! ! ! ! MAD # III We are mad at the so called "Free Trade". It is just not fair to us. We are against the so called "Free Trade". We are for "Fair Trade". For many years the Japanese government has refused to open thier rice market to us. They have 100% import duties on our cars, that the Japanese peple might want to buy. Our $20,000 car would cost them $40,000 our $40,000 car would cost them $80,000. Our import duties on their cars coming into the USA is very low. We have a huge trade deficit with Japan. This UN-FAIR TRADE has been going on for many years. More recently it has been going on with China. It seems like every time we go into a chain store, nearly everything in the store was made in China. Now the USA has been borrowing money form China. We have a huge trade deficit with China. Why-Why-Why? ? Why should Chinia, a Communist country be a "Most Favored" trading nation ? ? I recently saw an adjustable wrench in a certain chain store. I thought "this is the nicest adjustable werench I ever saw". Then I noticed that it was made in China and imported into Mexico. I had heard of that before. An adjustable wrench is something that I can do without. I refused to buy it. I have about every size of end wrenches. I have socket wrenches, extention handles, and ratchet handles. Why-Why-Why should China, a communist country be a "Most Favored Trading Nation ? ? You know about the "NASTY" trade agreemnet, (AKA: NORTH AMEIRCAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT). There is no import duty for trade among the North American countries. So China has started taking advantage of that. Their import duty into Mexica, than it is into the USA. Then they can import it into the USA, from Mexico for free. All of our trade agreements should be canceled. Then we need to re-negotiate ALL OF OUR TRADE AGREEMENTS. All of the trade negotiations must be shown on TV, so we can all see and hear what is going on. In the past they have been held is some small country in an obscurre location, in secret. We should trade Dollar for Dollar, Yen for Yen, Paso for Paso and Euro for Euro. We need Equil, Fair and Ballanced trade. When I was in the US Army, in Germany, I often heard the expression "Shape up or ship out." In reality we had no optiion to ship out. I shipped out when I got my orders to return to the US to get out. We say to Congress "Shape up" or we will ship you out on election day. I have heard it said " The main job of the politicians is to get themselves elected or re-elected." We the American people are sick and tired of bureaqucrats in Washington pushing us around. If you continue to refuse to look out for the best interests of America, we will replace you with people who will look out for the best interests of America. You are not our boss. We the Americans are your boss. Some of you or all of you are about to get fired. Shape up before we ship you out. We are going to return to, government by the people and for the people.
